The unimaginable has happened.
Expectations are wrecked. Hopes are devastated. Identity is lost.
There’s always a story, and every one of them is upsetting.
Some are unbearably tragic.
You wanted to build a family, or a bigger one.
You wanted to carry this pregnancy to term, or you wanted a miracle for your baby that never came.
If you could change anything, you would be a parent, and for this season, not even therapy will make that happen.
What’s left is deep grief, a lost sense of who you are, and a pain that’s invisible to people who don’t understand infertility, miscarriage, or later-term loss.
You don’t know how you’ll live through this.

There are complex layers here, and it’s vital to work with a therapist who understands what each of them means.
You don’t want to have to explain your experience.
You need to be able to just “be,” and sort it out with someone who can hold and shoulder the story without a lot of unnecessary questions.
Someone who will “get it.”
Someone who can make the connections for your particular story without a detailed explanation, and stay curious about what you want and need along the way.
I work from a person-centered approach, which means you set the pace and I follow your lead.
You’ll have a therapist certified in perinatal mental health, with seasoned experience and a compassionate presence, on your side.
When you’re ready, I can also offer Brainspotting.
Brainspotting uses where you look to reach where the hardest moments are stored in your brain and body, so they can be processed without retelling every detail.
If you’d like to do this work through a Christian lens, that’s welcome here.

Grieving is different for everyone.
We’ll take one step at a time.
At first, the work is simply telling the story and having it received.
Later, when you’re ready, we’ll go deeper into what the loss has left behind, including the dates the calendar keeps bringing back.
Many of the people I do this work with stay on for a long while, at whatever rhythm they need, because they don’t want to retell this story to anyone new.
Your best hope, for this season, is to grieve, recover, and build a meaningful life around this painful story.

The first step is to reach out.
Together, we’ll find your anchors to weather the storm.
